End Polio
Since the start of Rotary's polio eradication campaign, Rotarians have contributed more than US$1 billion globally toward eradicating the disease.
Although expensive, researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health have shown that stopping now would be even more so. Their study found that even a small decrease in the intensity of immunizations could cause large polio outbreaks, and a control policy relying only on routine immunizations could lead to 200,000 cases per year among low-income countries.
Rotarians are on the verge of ridding the world of Polio and this should be an inspiration to us all to continue and complete the job of eradicating this disease forever.
